David Beckham is going to launch an MLS side in the near future and he is hoping that his eldest son Brooklyn features for that side one day.
Brooklyn who is 14 years of age at the moment also wants to make his career in professional football just like his father. He has had short spells with the youth teams of a few clubs including Chelsea.
At such a young age, Brooklyn has become hugely popular. The journalists follow him wherever he goes and that’s something Beckham is worried about. He wants his son to grow as a footballer away from media attention, but, that’s not happening.
Beckham has had a total of 3 sons. The other two are named Romeo (11) and Cruz (8).
When asked if he wants his other two sons to follow his footsteps as well, Beckham said, “It’s up to the boys. If they enjoy the game, they can go on and play at whatever level they want. Whether they become a professional footballer or they just play in Sunday league, I don’t have any issues.”
“Obviously, there will be a bit of pressure on them. They will be followed by the media and that’s not the greatest thing for teenagers. But, they are strong minded kids and let’s see what happens.”
Beckham has not announced yet which is going to be the host city of the MLS Franchise that he will launch. Miami is reported to be at the top of his list.
When asked about that, the former Manchester United player said, “Miami is a fantastic place. I have gone there a few times and I have really enjoyed my time over there. It’s definitely one of the places which are in my mind.”
